The program touched on the topical issue of measures introduced by the United States aimed at protecting its domestic producers. Participants gave an answer to what tracks predetermine these political actions, whether the EU would be able to adapt and take a unified position with regard to the US policy. Maksim Vorobev provided statistics proving the negative impact of the sanctions in respect of the Russian aluminum industry on the EU economy using the example of the largest European consumer of aluminum, Volkswagen Group. The panellists also discussed the role of the WTO and the related reasons for the rapidly evolving tendency towards strengthening of bilateral and multilateral economic relations.
