Silk Road Crossings session held as part of the Eastern Economic Forum

On 11 September, Silk Road Crossings session was held as part of the Eastern Economic Forum. Vladimir Salamatov, the General Director of the International Trade and Integration Research Centre, took part in the discussion. The speakers discussed the prospects of cooperation between Russia and China, development of mutually beneficial relations between the two countries in many areas, for example, energy, food, biotechnology. The issue of relations between the EAEU participants and foreign partners was also touched on, in particular, progress was noted in relations with Asian partners. Speakers came to the conclusion that emerging problems in this area should be solved by strengthening financial interaction, raising awareness of potential partners, and they also noted the importance of cultural aspects in relations with Asian partners was particularly noted.
