The International Trade and Integration (ITI) Research Centre was established in April 2016 to perform a system analysis of the participation of Russia and countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in international trade, study international trade practices under agreements to which the World Trade Organization is a party and develop economic integration processes.

A separate area of ​​work is the identification, classification and search for ways to reduce non-tariff barriers to trade.

ITI combines the competencies and experience of participants in multilateral trade negotiations concerning Russia joining the WTO, development and conclusion of interstate trade and economic agreements, draft Federal Laws of the Russian Federation and regulations of the Government of the Russian Federation, and development of the EAEU regulatory framework.
