Review of conformity assessment systems of the Latin American countries. Part 1. Brazil

The conformity assessment system is an element of the technical regulation system of any country in the world and is based, as a general rule, on provisions of the World Trade Organization (WTO) agreements on technical barriers to trade and on application of sanitary and phytosanitary measures. Political and social structure of any given state, existing economic relations between market operators, participation in integration associations and other factors have their effect on organization of the conformity assessment system — each national system is original. This circumstance must be taken into account by the Russian exporters when deciding to enter foreign markets.

The purpose of this article is to characterize in sufficient detail the conformity assessment system of Brazil, which market is attractive for the Russian suppliers.
